My Story
Put simply, I love adventures - especially ones I put sweat equity into. While riding a super fast roller coaster is certainly adventurous, I am merely a passive rider and had nothing to do with the coaster itself. When I put a pack on my back and walk into a forest or up a mountain I have to be prepared for changing weather, terrain, calorie needs and so on. Every beautiful site I take in is an experience I earned and was not given, making it mean so much more than sitting in someone else's seat.
After an epic 8 day back packing trip (not my first trip) with my wife in the Alaskan wilderness that was replete with challenges including all sorts of weather and terrain I thought "I want to help others experience this amazement," and so an idea was born. Why not take my experiences to beginners and weekend warriors alike?
